Kiss Bridge

20/06/2024

Located right in the centre of Sunset Town (An Thới, Phu Quoc), Cầu Hôn (Kiss Bridge) attracts attention for its unique values in terms of structure, materials, design style, and the love story it conveys.

The project was designed by architect Marco Casamonti from Italy.

The bridge is composed of two branches, each 400m long, meeting in the middle of the open sea but not touching, with a 30cm gap between them. If two people walk from each end of the bridge, they will meet in the middle, able to touch and exchange a kiss, but not cross to the other side.

The two branches of the bridge resemble silk ribbons, sometimes resembling a spaceship landing from a distant planet. From another perspective, the two tips of the bridge look like two dolphins. The architecture of this bridge truly stimulates the imagination of many.

According to the architects, what makes the bridge unique is that the structure is "crafted" precisely to the centimetre so that the two branches balance perfectly at the most beautiful sunset spot. From this, one can evoke the story of love, the connection between people and the universe. Kiss Bridge also honours the romantic sunset moments of Phu Quoc, of those standing upon it.
